Pick up your boxes this week for Operation Christmas Child

Operation Christmas Child is an international relief organization that provides local partners around the world with shoeboxes filled with small toys, hygiene items, and school supplies as a means of reaching out to children in their own communities with the Good News of Jesus Christ. They ship these simple gifts outside the United States to children affected by war, poverty, natural disaster, famine, and disease; and to children living on Native American reservations in the U.S. Pick up a box and brochure off the back table and return it by November 24 if you are interested in donating.

Packing week: We also need a team of 20 people from CPC to sign up to pack boxes before we drive up to Samaritan's Purse. We are currently on a waitlist for December 7 (2–6p) to process these gifts. Volunteers need to be 13 years and up. You can also sign up on your own for a different day here. Contact Alicia Witt for more details or to sign up.

Get connected with a community group this fall

It's a good time to join a community group.

Community Groups at CPC are smaller gatherings around the areas we live that meet a couple times a month to help make community happen in a meaningful and effective way. It’s a great time to get involved! Send a quick email to a leader, fill out this form, or ask the office if you’d like more info or to join.

Help to provide worship services at the Delaney

CPC is providing 30- to 35-minute worship services at the Delaney, a senior living facility on Shell Road the first and third Sundays of each month, at 3p. This is a great outreach and ministry opportunity for CPC. Musicians and other help is welcomed and needed. For more information, please contact one of the pastors, Larry Lorimor, or Larry Stewart.

Help The Caring Place

The Caring Place food pantry ministers to our less fortunate neighbors, and there is an easy way we can help. They are always in need of empty one-dozen egg cartons, which are used to repackage the large quantities of eggs provided by the Central Texas Food Bank. Please save your empty cartons over the next few weeks and bring them to church on November 3 or 10. They will be delivered to The Caring Place. Contact Debi Newcombe with any questions.

CPC Prayer Team

Please share your prayer needs via e-mail! Also consider committing to pray for needs as they arise or to assist with facilitating prayer needs on this important new team, as well as to get together monthly to pray. Contact Ginny Thomas to let her know of your interest.

Caring for children, as great as it can be, is even better with company. If you are caring for children – of any age or stage – and would like to bring them out to weekday playgroups with other parents, grandparents and caregivers, please contact Jessie Kirkpatrick.
