Join us for Sunday school
Adult Sunday School: The simple fact that we are not in control means fear is a fundamental part of the human experience, and how we handle fear and anxiety is one of the most telling expressions of what we believe about life, the world, ourselves, and especially about God.
Whether we admit it or not, recognize it or not, and are intentional about it or not, anxiety and fear are at play in the way we make decisions, conduct ourselves in business and at home, and in every other sphere of life. Come and consider how people deal with anxiety in the various arenas of life, and let the gospel be our teacher and the Bible our guide to fear and trembling in an anxious world.
Join us Sundays, at 915a.
Nursery: Ages 6 months to 2 years
Preschool (Ages 3-5): Jesus is the Savior (Great Commissions Publications) – The class will focus on Jesus’ love for his people, his death and resurrection, his ascension, the promised Holy Spirit, and the Lord’s return one day.
K-2nd Grade: Studying God’s Word (Great Commissions Publications) – Using stories and passages from both the Old and New Testaments, children will study the importance of God’s Word. As they learn about those who followed God’s Word and those who failed to obey it, they will discover what it means to hide God’s Word in their hearts and live by it.
3rd-5th Grade: Trusting God (Great Commissions Publications) – As students explore the greatness and goodness of our heavenly Father, the class will focus on trusting God’s provision for us. He made and rules over everything.
Youth (6th-12th Grade): God's Story, Our Story – We will pick up where we left off in the Old Testament, as we continue to look at how God reveals his redemptive plan through the narrative of Scripture.
Sign up for January 26 Chili Cook-Off
We need at least 12 chili chefs with crock pots, as well as others to provide salads, cornbread, desserts, and drinks for our 3rd Annual Chili Cook-Off Sunday, January 26, following the worship service. Casey Lewis took home the 1st place trophy last year- do you have what it takes to beat him and take home the trophy this year? This will also be name tag Sunday and will be a perfect opportunity to get to know newcomers and fellowship with one another. Please sign up to compete or bring sides/drinks/desserts at the Church Life table or email Adrienne.
Nominate godly men for church leadership
Members, one of the great ways you can love CPC is by helping us identify godly men to serve our church as elders or deacons. Pick up a nomination card at the Church Life table and submit your completed form by Sunday, January 26. Descriptions of qualifications and responsibilities for officers of the church can be found on the Church Life table as well.
Intro to CPC class offered in February
If you would like to learn more about what we believe and what we aim to do, please plan on attending the Intro to CPC Class (all three days) during the Sunday School hour February 2, February 9, and February 16. E-mail Adrienne Herron to sign up or to request more information by January 26.
Newcomers, let's gather February 19
Please note: The Newcomers' Gathering has been moved to February 9 at the Horralls' home. If you just started coming to CPC or if you feel like you are not quite plugged in yet, you are invited to the Newcomers’ Gathering the afternoon of February 9. Let’s break bread (a light dinner will be served) and get to know our pastors, officers, ministry leaders, and their families! We are looking forward to getting to know you, too! Please e-mail Adrienne to sign up by February 3.
Bring your kids out to weekday playgroups
Caring for children, as great as it can be, is even better with company. If you are caring for children – of any age or stage – and would like to bring them out to weekday playgroups with other parents, grandparents, and caregivers, please contact Jessie Kirkpatrick.
