What Is Building What Matters?

“But the king [David] said ... ‘I will not offer burnt offerings to the LORD my God that cost me nothing.’”
— 2 Samuel 24:24

The Building What Matters generosity initiative will strengthen our church and provide the resources we need to advance the mission Jesus has given us. CPC has long desired to establish a permanent home, and God has now opened an opportunity in the Sedro Crossing development for the church to make this a reality. Not only do we think this building will be a great home for us, we envision it will be a tool that God will use to bless others — new visitors and the surrounding community. All of this is what truly matters!

You Are Important to This Vision

We are asking everyone at CPC to pray, engage, and give in new ways during this season. Will you prayerfully consider participating in Building What Matters? There are three critical ways you can participate:

      1. Pray with us. Join us in praying that the Holy Spirit would move God’s people to take a step of spiritual growth that results in a heartfelt offering to God. Download our prayer calendar for specific prayer points.
      2. Pledge and give a special gift by January 2022. Contribute a special gift over and above your regular giving to raise the needed down payment of the loan to purchase this building.
      3. Make a two-year pledge over and above your regular giving. Help reduce the loan balance with ongoing gifts throughout 2022, 2023, and 2024 (through September 2024). As we participate together in this effort to establish a church home that allows us to minister to the Georgetown community more effectively, we are Building What Matters — for Him, for us, and for others.

As a church, we'll make our financial pledges on Sunday, September 26, 2021. (Pledge cards and envelopes will be available at the worship service and in the church office.) The results will be announced in October 2021. Following the service, join us for the BWM Celebration Lunch to mark this important step in CPC's generosity journey.
