Giving at CPC

The offering is a vital part of our response to God’s grace provided for us in the preaching of his word and administration of the Lord’s Supper. Our tithes and offerings represent the entirety of our lives being consecrated to the Lord Jesus Christ and the coming of His kingdom to this world. As God’s grace is freely given to us, so our gifts are freely returned, and in no way add to but are only a response to the supremely adequate work of Christ’s atonement.

Whatever you give, keep the words of the Apostle Paul in mind:

"Each man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work."2 Corinthians 9:7-8

How to give at CPC

Our Funds

CPC uses five funds that are intended to provide an opportunity for tithes, offerings, and special gifts to be given toward general and specific purposes.

The General fund is CPC’s normal operating fund. CPC uses gifts to this fund for its regular annual operating budget. Gifts to the general fund allow us to serve God faithfully and effectively in Central Texas and around the globe.

There are two funds used to address CPC’s building needs and long term mortgage obligations on our facility in Sedro Crossing. The Building fund was used to accept special gifts and offerings toward building this facility and the current balance provides funds for making diminishing portions of mortgage payments (P&I). The Debt Reduction fund has been established to provide an opportunity for those interested to make special gifts toward principal only payments to the mortgage, thus reducing CPC’s long term obligation. This fund does not carry a balance and all donations made each month are used to pay down the mortgage principal.

CPC’s two additional funds are the Benevolence fund and the Missions fund.

CPC encourages special gifts to these last four designated funds (Building fund, Debt Reduction fund, Benevolence fund, Missions fund) be made over and above normal tithes and offerings to the general fund.
